Overview
The certificate course in Social Work focuses on skills development of professionals and Para- professionals to promote empowerment of individuals, group and community to achieve a balanced economic and social development and delivery effective social welfare services in Sri Lanka. It is designed in keeping with the Qualification Framework advocated by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council of UGC in Sri Lanka.
Aim of the course
To produce professionals and Para -professionals in social work with the required knowledge, skills, attitude and right mindset for social work practice.
Objectives
- To produce quality para professionals/professionals in social work
- To enhance the professional skills of the providers of social welfare services using the empowerment approach.
- To develop the ability to such officers and service providers to facilitate intervention in social welfare and social development matters
