Amidst the ongoing battle against HIV/AIDS, NISD takes a proactive stance in safeguarding the health and well-being of its students. With the alarming statistics surrounding HIV prevalence, it becomes imperative to implement comprehensive prevention and protection programs. NISD stands at the forefront, championing education, awareness, and support in the fight against this formidable health challenge.
Aiming that, student awareness program for prevention and protection from sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS, organized by the Student Welfare Division of the National Institute of Social Development with the support of 2nd year BSW students was held on 4th of April 2024 at the institute premises.
Dr. Rasika Liyanage, Medical Officer of Health, Seeduwa was the main resource person of this programme. All 1st year and 2nd year students of BSW programme participated in this awareness programme.
